Pilates at studio blue will work your muscles in new ways, at new angles, and on multiple planes to not only strengthen and tone, but also challenge your balance and coordination. Our goals are to strength the body, move with precision, and develop mental and physical stamina.
Mat Pilates Class Descriptions:
The Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment which looks like a bed with springs, a sliding carriage, ropes and pulleys. Reformer Pilates is similar yet very different to mat based Pilates. Reformer Pilates is done using the Pilates reformer machine and is generally more intense and more dynamic than mat based Pilates as it adds resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the springs which form part of the machine.

As a wonderful compliment to more active classes, restorative practice focuses on gentle movement. Using blankets (which we encourage you to bring), straps, and blocks, the body is supported and able to fully relax, bringing increased balance. Poses are held for extended periods, often up to ten or twenty minutes, and this practice is intended to enhance feelings of openness and rejuvenation.
